Swing international à Hoeilaart
Over more 10 years ago, a handful of band musicians were very eager to play Jazz music. Not any kind of jazz, but jazz for Big Band. That is how Swing Shift started under the baton of Luc Goeman, trumpet soloist at the opera in Ghent and Antwerp.
Swing Shift Big Band has,
- a basis core, plus a whole range of excellent musicians, from all over the place, from different nationalities and backgrounds, speaking different languages meeting each week ;
- a professional conductor, whose main objective is to relentlessly enhance the musical quality of our Big Band
Our plan is to bring back to life the traditional classical jazz music for Big Band such as Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, George Gershwin, Henri Mancini, Richard Rodger, Horace Silver, etc., as well as the most recent and modern jazz music such as Jay Chattaway, Sammy Nestico, Dean Sorenson and more.
Already we have had numerous gigs, not only in Belgium, but also abroad, in Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, and recently in France in Languedoc.
